Dolores to hold special meeting to address school discipline

Meeting announced for April 4 at 6 p.m.
On March 8, parents, students and community members crowded into the Dolores School District Re-4A School Board meeting to discuss the 2018-2019 calendar and discipline.

Dolores School District Re-4A on Friday announced the agenda for its special meeting to address reported discipline problems.

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 4, from 6-8 p.m. in the Middle School/High School Commons. The meeting was scheduled after the crowded and sometimes contentious Dolores School Board meeting on March 8.

Many of the 130 people in attendance were concerned about discipline in Dolores Schools after an apparent assault involving two students in February.

The special meeting will be held after a regularly scheduled policy meeting at 5 p.m.

The agenda for the special meeting includes an item titled, “Informational Workshop-Discipline Plan.” Items under the workshop include a presentation from the Dolores Secondary behavioral support framework, workshop discussion with community and to plan a date for a follow-up meeting to monitor progress.
