The Fort Lewis College Foundation holds and administers more than 70 donor scholarships with varied criteria based on merit, need, passion, goals and accomplishments.
Two Dolores students were awarded scholarships this year, and another is studying abroad.
Krista Garchar, of Dolores, received the Joseph McKinley Kiwanis, a $1,200 scholarship for the 2013-14 year. Her major is biology.
Fallon Kelley, of Dolores, received a $750 Edith McPherson Scholarship for the 2013-14 academic year. Kelley's major is biology.

The International Programs Office at FLC offers many opportunities to study abroad, including by student exchange or direct enrollment. Additional programs offered on campus are either faculty-led or sponsored by a faculty member by independent study.
Emma Vaughn, of Dolores, is participating in the program. She is studying abroad at University of Oslo in Oslo, Norway, for the fall 2013 semester. Vaughn is majoring in English.
