Dolores seeks applicants for vacant Town Board position

Deadline to submit letter of interest is June 22

The Dolores Town Board is seeking applicants to fill a vacant board seat.

Board member Jeff Sand resigned because he moved outside Dolores town limits.

Qualified applicants must submit a letter of interest by 4:30 p.m. June 22. It can be sent via email to tammy@townofdolores.com, dropped off at Town Hall at 420 Central Ave., or mailed to PO Box 630 Dolores, CO 81323.

Candidates must be 18 years old, a U.S. citizen and a town resident for 12 consecutive months before the appointment date.

Town board members are paid $100 per month. Regular meetings are the second and fourth Mondays of the month at 6:30 p.m. Workshops are scheduled to follow a regular meeting as needed.

The town board will review applicants and vote on the board appointment at the June 27 board meeting. The successful candidate’s term will be until the next election, in April 2024.
