Dolores Public Library celebrates summer reading program

The Dolores Public Library would like to thank all of you who made our 2018 “Libraries Rock” Summer Reading Program possible. Thanks to the generosity of our patron Robert Myers, youth participants in were reading for a chance to win a brand-new Playstation 4. Our youth summer reading program grand prize-winner was Simeon, Elijah, Bodhie and Cedar for taking the top prizes for the younger age brackets. The winner of the Adult Summer Reading Program, two tickets to Telluride Jazz Fest, was Della Perkins.

Special thanks to our performers who volunteered their talents to our Summer on the River outdoor movie Renita Conny and the Next Generation Band; Glenn Smith & family; Tom, Herb, Sandy & Beth of the Aloha Club and hula dancers Moana, Liliana, India and Madison; and Thom Rader & Linda Baker of Blue Canyon Jazz.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the other businesses, nonprofits and individuals who made the program a success: Kendra and Fairlight of Green Table Café, David Kill and Jennifer Frost of the Bureau of Land Management, Steve Weeks Music, Shiann Swapp of Durango Marital Arts Academy, Robert Myers, Wendy’s of Cortez, The Friends of the Dolores Public Library, and Katelyn Carpenter.
