The Dolores girls golf team returned from last week’s three-day road trip with some hardware.

After bouncing around from Grand Junction to Craig to Gunnison, the Lady Bears won the final meet of their tour at Dos Rios Golf Club in Gunnison on Wednesday.

The team finished in first place with a 288 after all three members finished in the top five – and they nearly went one-two-three.

Kiselya Plewe led the way with a 78 to finish in first, Keyana Matteson shot a 104 to take second and Abigail Smith was one stroke away from third, taking fourth with a 106.

The Lady Bears opened their road trip with a middle-of-the-pack finish at Tiara Rado Golf Course in Grand Junction on Monday.

Plewe shot a 78 to finish in third place, Smith shot a season-best 100 and Matteson finished at 111.

Tuesday’s tournament at Yampa Valley Golf Course in Craig was cut short due to weather.

With hail piling up on the greens, the event was called off after nine holes, with Plewe finishing as medalist after shooting par with a 36.

The Lady Bears first-place finish at Gunnison on Wednesday wrapped up their regular season.

They will travel back to Yampa Valley this weekend for the regional tournament.
