Dolores County approves tax hike to boost the Rico Fire Protection District’s budget

Dolores County voters on Tuesday approved a ballot measure to boost the Rico Fire Department’s budget.
The measure is expected to add $35,000 in new funding for the RFPD.

Dolores County voters on Tuesday approved a ballot initiative to increase property taxes in order to hike the Rico Fire Protection District’s annual budget.

Ballot Issue 6A passed with 73% of the vote. The increase, which will take effect in 2024, is expected to add nearly $35,000 in additional funding for the fire district.
