Dolores anglers plan holiday, climate meeting

The Journal

The Dolores River Anglers chapter of Trout Unlimited will hold its holiday party on Monday, Dec. 5 at Main Street Brewery in Cortez.

Bring a gift valued at $5 or less that is fishing- or outdoor-related.

Also attend a presentation on what climate change is likely to mean to trout streams in the Upper Dolores watershed. Given increasing temperatures and declining beneficial precipitation, which streams are likely to be long-term strongholds? What will this mean for the trout fishery? Are there suggestions for adapting and managing the change?

A stream ranking list from least vulnerable (strongholds) to most will be presented, and input and feedback are encouraged.

The meet-and-greet is at 6:30 p.m., followed by a program at 7 p.m.
