‘DOJ attempting to protect democracy’

As we anticipate the upcoming trial of former President Donald Trump on charges of mishandling of classified documents and the accompanying obstruction charges, we also anticipate additional serious charges pertaining to the Jan. 6 insurrection, as well as charges of election interference in multiple states.

It appears the former administration may well go down in history as the most corrupt in our nation’s history. Remembering that the former POTUS has been impeached twice, indicted in multiple criminal acts and has lost a severe defamation civil case, his administration may soon top the list of several Republican administrations rife with corruption and scandal. To date, the administration of Warren Harding has been the biggest smear on our government.

In case you have forgotten, the Harding Administration was responsible for the Teapot Dome Scandal in the 1920s, and resulted in the imprisonment of five members of his cabinet and inner circle of oil executives and Department of Justice members. Additionally, four members of his inner circle committed suicide, one was admitted to a mental institution, a dozen were fired or forced to resign and several fled the country to avoid prosecution. Harding avoided consequences by dying two years into his term of office.

Currently, the corruption of the Trump and his administration appears to be approaching a level that will far surpass the corruption of the Harding administration, the Nixon administration, the Reagan administration, as well as the W. Bush Administration. Thank goodness, the DOJ is attempting to protect democracy.
