Dems shouldn’t vote in GOP primary

Joe Lewandowski’s letter to the editor is spot on. Dems should not vote in the Republican primary. We can beat Boebert. How? By voting for Sol Sandoval.

I am backing Sandoval because she listens and speaks truth to power. She is running to represent all Coloradans: Democrats, independents and Republicans alike. I worked with her in community organizing in Pueblo before moving to Durango. She is an intelligent, hard worker who is not afraid of tough decisions, and she has the strong personality, fortitude and resilience necessary to take on her opponents, including Lauren Boebert and Don Coram.

She stands for working class values: affordable housing, public lands investments, investing in workforce development, apprenticeship training and growing industries like health care, technology and renewable energy, thus opening the door to career advancement and better opportunities for Colorado families. She says, “Protecting public lands isn’t just good for the environment; it provides thousands of jobs and supports small businesses throughout the region.” Like many folks on the Western Slope, she supports the Colorado Outdoor Recreation & Economy Act.

She understands how important water issues are for Coloradans in the 3rd Congressional District. She will work with local governments, state governments, nonprofits and small businesses to be sure that federal water policies work well for us.

When Sol came to town in April and learned about the campaign at the Westside Mobile Park to purchase the place, she showed up to encourage them in their own leadership. A strong leader inspires others. Sol is that leader.
