CSU Extension offers agriculture marketing webinar series

Colorado State University Extension in Montezuma County will host “lunch and learn” webinars at the County Extension office, 103 N. Chestnut St. in Cortez from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays from Jan. 8-29.

The webinars, presented by CSU agriculture and business management economist Brent Young, will introduce participants to using cash, futures and options markets to improve prices for their crops and livestock. The series is best suited to commercial cattle and crop operations, extension agent Tom Hooten said in a press release.

Participants are encouraged to ask questions.

Topics are: cash markets and basics, Jan. 8; using the futures market to manage price risk, Jan. 15; using the options market to manage price risk, Jan. 22; and price seasonality, selecting a broker, market planning, Jan. 29.

Each webinar costs $5, and lunch is included. Space is limited.
