Crashes, slick road conditions close Road G temporarily

Snowstorm catches drivers by surprise

Two vehicles crashed, and another slid off County Road G Thursday evening in snowy conditions.

The crashes and slick conditions caused Road G west of Road 21 to be closed about 5:30 p.m. until a sander truck could arrive and the wrecks were cleared, said Colorado State Trooper Tonja Cowan.

The two vehicle crash occurred in the 19000 block, and a one vehicle slide off was in the 16000 block, Cowan said.

The crashes are under investigation. Injuries have not yet been reported.

Other vehicles on Road G were “spinning out” on fresh snow as law enforcement and rescue vehicles arrived, officials said.

About 6 p.m., two sanding trucks arrived to improve road conditions. Drivers in vehicles idled at the intersection of County Road 21 and G waiting for the road to open so they could go home.
