‘Countless lakes met rules for ramp’

The Friday editorial on motorized versus nonmotorized usage at Lake Nighthorse was somewhat disingenuous.

When this subject first came up before the opening, it was pointed out that federal funding from taxes collected on the sale of outboard motors was used for the construction of the boat ramp. At that time, I pointed that there were countless lakes in Colorado that limited motorized craft to a maximum of 10 horsepower and still met the rules on using those tax dollars for the ramp.

Had the powers that be taken that route then, there would be no issues with ski boats or 100 HP deck boats. It may or may not be too late to change the rules.
