Council to publicly interview final three candidates for city manager job

Candidates to replace City Manager John Dougherty will get their chance to introduce themselves to the public Thursday evening.

The three remaining candidates for the Cortez city manager position will have the opportunity to introduce themselves to the public Thursday evening.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. today, candidates will each have 20 minutes to introduce themselves. They will then each answer the same question provided by City Council. Once each candidate has finished their introduction and answered the given question, they will leave the meeting.

According to a news release, a facilitator will then open up the meeting to public comment via Zoom. There will not be direct communication between the candidates and the public.

The next step in the selection process will take place Friday. Council will interview the finalists in-person and via Zoom during the day.
