Cortez’s Planning and Zoning Commission looks for candidates to fill a current vacancy.
According to a news release, P&Z is the first body that reviews development proposals and simultaneously helps make sure the city grows while preserving its sense of community.
P&Z meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month beginning at 6:30 p.m.
The member’s responsibilities include recommending and/or determining matters related to zoning, exercising land use code duties and powers and the state of Colorado’s applicable laws, planning or subdivision control, hearing, recommending various zoning district boundaries; make and adopt comprehensive plans.
All applicants must be Cortez registered electors.
Letters of interest must be received by 5 p.m. Sept. 22. They should include the applicant’s background with their contact information.
