The Cortez Public Library is hosting a variety of events as a part of its Summer Reading program. Open to all ages, participants can pick up their reading passports starting June 20, read books to earn stamps, and attend events to earn extra credit.

The reading passports include information about each continent, and participants can read books based on each continent to fill out the passport, although any read book will earn stamps.

Participants also can win prizes such as a Kindle, gift cards and more, according to a poster advertising the program posted on Facebook by the Cortez Public Library.

Events include author talks by Curt Melliger and Saskia Tepe, a showing of “The Super Mario Bros.” movie for youths, a showing of “A Man Called Otto” for older participants, and multiple events for children. Additional events may be added.

All passports must be returned to the library by July 31. More information can be found on the library’s Facebook page, as well as their website.
