Cortez Public Library announces summer reading program

Library launches Tails and Tales program

Cortez Public Library will host its summer reading program with the theme of “Tails and Tales” from June 1 to July 15 and is open to ages 0 to 18.

To participate, read four books, then collect the first prize. Read four more and collect a second prize and enter to win the grand prize.

Three virtual performance/events will also be part of the program and will be posted on the library’s Facebook page.

Events include:

  • June 1 to June 13: Tall Tales of the Lost Temple with ventriloquist Meghan Casey of Rocky Mountain Puppets
  • June 16, 6 p.m.: Mythology of Constellations with Fiske Planetarium CU Boulder. Ages 8 to 12. To register, call 565-8117. Space is limited.
  • June 13 to June 28: Steve Weeks Music.

Registration for the summer reading program is required. To register, visit the library at 202 N. Park St. and pick up a reading log or download a log on the library’s Facebook page or at www.cortezpl.insigniails.com/Library/Home.
