Wednesday May 28

8:45 a.m. A woman reported that someone had stolen about $900 of Mary Kay merchandise from her car. It was the third call of the day about cars being rifled through, according to the police report.

Monday, May 26

9:44 p.m. An officer responded to a Rust Trailer Park to a robbery. A woman told the officer her purse had been forcefully taken from her hands by two males. The woman said the two men about 18 to 22 years old and had driven away in a dark SUV. Officers searched the trailer park, but the vehicle was not located.

8:38 p.m. A man came to the police department to report a robbery. The man said he had a laptop, I-pod and tools stolen from his unlocked truck on West 6th street. The robbery on the evening of May 25.

Thursday May 22

12:11 p.m. An officer responded a call about bullet holes in Big R.

Wednesday May 21

9:12 p.m. An officer was traveling south in a marked patrol car on South Broadway when he had to slam on his brakes to avoid a collision with a truck turning south off of 5th street. When the officer stopped the driver and asked him to step out of the car, the officer noticed the man was unsteady on his feet. After failing to pass roadside sobriety tests, the man was transported to the police station where he failed a breathalyzer test.

Sunday, May 18 1:57 a.m.

Three officers were on Madison Street when they heard several shots fired near Wal-Mart. One of the officers in the area was called to a vehicle break-in shortly afterward in a nearby parking lot. A man reported that a Glock had been stolen from his truck. A motorcycle and ATV had been taken from the trailer and moved to the brush to the east side of the water conservation building. After searching the area the officers found eight spent shells and the gun in the sagebrush as well. The officers questioned a man sleeping behind the dumpsters who said he saw three men firing the gun but he did not know where they had gone.

Thursday May 15

8:27 p.m. A man was arrested after he was accused of beating another man with a chain. A police officer found the victim lying in the park with a large swelling on his jaw. The victim was taken to Southwest Memorial Hospital. The suspect was taken to jail where his blood alcohol level was found to be .212. He was charged with 2nd degree assault and 3rd degree criminal trespass.
