TOPS Club Inc. has named Anna Malick of Lakewood and Roger Echols of Cortez its Colorado queen and king of weight loss for 2021.
They were honored May 13-14 at the annual TOPS celebration in Denver.
As TOPS royalty, they recorded the largest weight loss from their starting weight, regardless of the time taken to reach their goal. Malick reported having lost 41.6 pounds, and Echols of Cortez, 32 pounds.
TOPS – Take Off Pounds Sensibly – provides an individual approach to weight loss and wellness, according to a news release from RSPR Marketing and Communications. During 2021, TOPS reported that its Colorado members lost a cumulative 3,438 pounds.
“Through their participation in TOPS, we are extremely proud of our TOPS® members’ weight-loss accomplishments,” said TOPS President Rick Danforth, who has maintained a 100-pound weight loss for more than 15 years.
Weekly in-person and online meetings are the heart of TOPS support. In-person meetings start with an optional weigh-in, and members then share challenges, successes or goals, the news release said. A program covering a variety of health and wellness topics, and may conclude with awards and recognition for the week.
For online membership, virtual meetings are conducted via Zoom and are offered at least three times during the week.
The nonprofit TOPS was founded in 1948 and has chapters throughout the United States and Canada.
