The committee helps enrich the community through art, literature, music and then some
Artist Karen Kristen painted “Five Horses” on the south wall of Sky Art Studio Gallery, 105 N. Sligo St. “What I love about that is Kristen is such a fabulous sky artist that the clouds that are in the sky just sort of blend in to the actual sky and it makes the mural so much more three dimensional,” said Heidi Brugger, a member of the Cortez Public Arts Advisory Committee.
Cortez’s Public Arts Advisory Committee, which devotes itself to enrich Cortez’s cultural domain, plans to fill a vacancy.
The committee’s obligations include procurement, maintenance, planning, promotion, installation and restoration of city-owned public arts projects and artwork. It also advises the City Council on art.
According to an announcement, the position is volunteer-based, and meetings are held on the first Monday of every month at 5 p.m.
