The Cortez Fire Protection District will hold an election for its board of directors on May 8.

Friday morning, administrators held a drawing to decide the name placement of the candidates on the ballot.

The Cortez Fire Protection District is a special Colorado district and is governed by an elected board of directors.

Elections are held every other year, following the first Monday in May.

The 2018 election will be held May 8. Polling will take place at the fire station at 30 Ash St. from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
