Conversion to digital television gets underway; order decoder by April 13

TDS Telecom is upgrading its service to all-digital TV service in Cortez, resulting in improved access to more hannels, improved picture and sound, and access to an on-screen programming guide.

To complete the digital upgrade, customers need to order a digital set-top box for each TV in their home by April 13 so TDS can convert low-efficiency analog video signals to more efficient digital signals.

Customers received mailings and emails about the digital conversion and how to order set-top boxes.

In mid-March, TDS started the conversion by taking down 18 analog channels. TDS plans to shut down all analog channels on April 17. If customers do not have a set-top box connected to their TV, it will no longer be able to display channels, starting April 17.

To order, call 1-855-696-8375. Set-top boxes will work on standard- and high-definition televisions.
