Conquistador hosts Cortez Junior Golf Tournament

37 youth golfers tee off at local tournament

The Conquistador Junior Golf Program held its Cortez Junior Golf Tournament last Thursday as a conclusion to the youth camp the week prior.

“We had 80 in our program and 37 [in the tournament], and that happens,” said manager and course pro Micah Rudosky. “But we had a great day out here.”

While younger golfers teed off from closer spots and played fewer holes, older golfers teed off from as far as the white tees and played as many as 18 holes.

Youth golfers interested in getting involved in upcoming events can contact the shop at 970-565-9208 for more information on the PGA Junior League or Four Corners Junior Championship.

The Junior League is a youth team that plays once a week, and the Four Corners Junior Championship is a Rocky Mountain Junior Golf Tournament held Wednesday and Thursday, August 3-4 at Conquistador Golf Course.
