Community kitchen gets donated eco-friendly lighting

Local real estate investor Joshua Mischke partnered with a local donor to replace outdated fluorescent light fixtures at Grace’s Kitchen, which provides takeout meals three days per week to locals in need.

Twenty-three LED fixtures were installed in the kitchen and dining spaces, which receive some of the highest weekly use at the church. The installation process allowed existing electrical components to remain in place, substantially reducing expenses.

The new, energy-efficient bulbs have an average lifespan of 200,000 hours and will reduce the church’s lighting costs by about 70%, according to an initial analysis.

Project management and labor expenses were donated by Mischke’s firm, Energy LLC.
