Saturday, March 8

Join Jude & the Montezuma Orchard Restoration Project for FREE hands-on pruning workshops in the heritage orchards on March 8. Meet at Let It Grow, 90 North Mildred in Cortez at 1:30 p.m. to caravan, or call ahead for directions to the orchard. 565-3099. Dress for the weather, wear boots, gloves, and glasses. Sunday, March 9

Little League Baseball is open for registration. Super Saturday registration will be at Hibbett Sports on March 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Baseball is open for ages 4 to 15 as of April 30. Cost varies from $55 to $105 according to age. Registration closes March 9. At the Mt. Lookout Grange's community dinner on Sunday, March 9 at 5:30, Lu Nettleman of the Colorado Plateau Growers Association will be available to chat with folks about growing industrial hemp, or other topics of interest. Bring a dish, make a donation, or just come and dine with your neighbors.

Wednesday, March 12

The Montezuma Valley Farm Hub presents four in-depth classes featuring local experts & experienced farmers & ranchers. The first class in this series, Opportunities in Sheep & Goat Production, takes place March 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Let It Grow in Cortez, 90 North Mildred Road. Friday, March 14

Celebrating Women's History Month, HerStory - Midge Kirk and Terri Helm present Two Women from Rico, Lizzy Knight and Betty Pellet. on March 14 at 7 p.m. at the Cortez Cultural Center, 25 N. The Southwest Colorado Green Party will hold a quarterly meeting in the Wilson building, 16 W. Main Street Cortez, on March 19 at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Saturday, March 22

There will be a benefit Chili dinner and silent auction for Amy Martin, a mother of three fighting stage 2 breast cancer, to help with medical bills on March 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lewis Arriola Community Center. Dolores Rotary Club and Operation Graduation 2014 plan an evening of Bingo at the Dolores Community Center. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with soup and dessert for $5. The Mancos Indoor Flea Market is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday at the old hardware store in Mancos, 192 S. Main St. To become a vendor, call Queenie Barz at 749-9320. The booth fee is $15 per weekend, along with insurance and vendor license charges.
