Collaborative studio for local artists, craftspeople, makers and educators opens in Cortez.

The Collaborative, a working studio for a collection of artists, craftspeople, makers, and educators, located in a 5,400-square-foot loft at 25 N. Beech St., provides a studio or working environment that fosters interaction and collaboration to share vision, creative energy and inspiration.

The Collaborative is intended as a platform for education and interaction with the community by offering workshop/teaching spaces for creative processes and the arts. It aims to create and nurture partnerships with local schools, organizations and other communities. Its interests are to promote economic sustainability among the members of The Collaborative through shared marketing programs. It envisions being a destination location for visitors to the Southwest and for other artists, craftspeople, makers and educators.
