Chimney Rock to hold ‘Dances of the Ancients’

Chimney Rock Interpretive Association, with sponsor the Pagosa Springs Sun, will hold the first “Dances of the Ancients” on Saturday, May 27, in the Great Kiva at Chimney Rock National Monument, 3179 Highway 151.

Two all-children pueblo dance groups, the Acoma Rain Dancers of Acoma Pueblo and the Oak Canyon Dancers of Jemez will give performances at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Spectators are asked to arrive 30 minutes before performances start and should be prepared to stand or bring chairs and blankets.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 5-12.

Reservations are not required but are strongly recommended because of space limitations. Walking tours will not be offered during the event.
