Child Advocacy Center to host mandatory reporter training

The Four Corners Child Advocacy Center will host a mandatory reporter training on Sept. 13.

Mandatory reporter training will be offered from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at Four Corners Child Advocacy Center, 140 N. Linden St.

The training will cover the types of maltreatment of children and their definitions, indicators (signs) of maltreatment in children and in adults who may be abusing, why reporting is a service to children and families, who are mandated reporters, why professionals hesitate or fail to report abuse and neglect, and how to overcome barriers, mandated reporter responsibilities and protections, penalties for failure to report and how to respond to children who disclose or exhibit indicators of abuse or neglect.
