Local brewmaster Mark Youngquist has resigned from the Town of Dolores Board of Trustees.
Youngquist, owner of the Dolores River Brewery, has been on the board since 2010. He served a four-year term, and was appointed to a two-year term in April.
"I really appreciated serving on the board and working with the town. It was a good experience," he said Monday.
In a letter of resignation, Youngquist said he couldn't commit the time required to serve as a board member.
"Thank you for your service Mark," said board member Courtney Hart, after (half) jokingly voting "no" to approve his resignation. It passed 4-1.
In the past year, Youngquist voted to adopt a conceptual trail plan for Dolores, supported sidewalk improvement projects and new trails, and pushed for one sheriff deputy be assigned to serve Dolores.
The board will appoint a replacement who will serve the remainder of his term until April 2016. Candidates must be 18 years old and have lived in the city limits for 12 months. Interested candidates are supposed to submit a letter of intent and are urged to attend the Aug. 25 regular workshop at 6:30 p.m. at town hall.
