Charter reauthorization, SAFER grant set for school board meeting

The Board of Education for the Montezuma-Cortez School District Re-1 will meet tonight for their first regular meeting of 2019.

Directors will consider reauthorizing a charter for Battle Rock Charter School, and possibly approve a School Access for Emergency Response grant.

Among the board’s discussion items, directors are set to talk midyear student achievement data, board goals, and the Colorado Association of School Boards legislative conference.

And the school board will receive a few reports and presentations, including from middle school students in the Exceptional Student Services program, a school board appreciation report, and a staff report regarding the agricultural program at the high school.

The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. at the Montezuma-Cortez Middle School, 450 W. Second St.
