Christians have been negligent to vote for a long time, but the question is why? I have asked Christians this question.
Some tell me that God will intervene anyway. His will, will be done, so they do not need to vote. Others say that the candidates are not good enough for them or time voting is not time spent trying to save souls.
What I have learned is the fact that these Christians, must not really care about their fellow man. By not voting, they let the non-Christian world be in control. The Bible makes it clear that if we do not stand up for good, then evil will enter our world.
Studies show that more than 40 million Christians fail to vote during a presidential election. Another 15 million do not even bother to register to vote.
Not voting is like not washing your dishes. If you choose to not wash your dishes, they start to stink, and the stink grows. The stink grows and you may be sorry since the person elected may not serve your interest. “When the righteous rule, the people rejoice, when the wicked rule, the people groan.” Proverbs 29:2.
I have been watching while we groan. Do not let people who do not believe in your values take over your lives because you sit idly by and let it happen.
God depends on good people to do good things and I hope you choose to be one of those good people. Vote. Vote.
