Bus service arrives in Dolores

Roadrunner arrives in mornings for GJ

Dolores is on the route of a new regional bus line between Durango and Grand Junction.

Road Runner Stage Lines, operated by Southern Ute Community Action Programs, will run the motorcoach service seven days per week, 365 days per year.

The one round-trip per day will leave Durango at 7 a.m. and travel through Mancos, Cortez, Dolores, Rico, Telluride, Placerville, Ridgeway, Montrose and Delta, arriving in Grand Junction at 12:38 p.m. The bus arrives back in Durango at 7:47 p.m.

In Dolores, the Roadrunner arrives at 8:15 a.m. at the Dolores Market on its way to Grand Junction. It returns to Dolores at 6:29 p.m.

A one-way ticket from Dolores to Grand Junction is $31, or $62 round-trip. Basic information on fares and schedules may be found at www.sucap.org.

To start, riders may purchase tickets from the driver in cash (exact amount, no change will be carried by the driver), or with a credit or debit card. In a few weeks (but not right now), passengers traveling within the Durango-Grand Junction route segment will be able to purchase tickets online at www.roadrunnerstagelines.com

The route is a partnership between SUCAP, CDOT and Greyhound. The service will be "inter-lined" with the Greyhound system. That means that riders anywhere in the Greyhound system will be able to purchase tickets online at www.greyhound.com. Southwest Colorado destinations went live July 15, but riders are cautioned to be prepared to pay the driver while the service gets experience with ticket purchase systems.
