Following a tough loss last week, Dove Creek head football coach Shane Baughman indicated that his team would bounce back. Did they ever!
Playing on the road against the Rangely Panthers on Aug. 30, the Bulldogs showcased offensive firepower and defensive intensity while running away with a 46-6 victory.
Leading the Bulldogs aerial attack was sophomore quarterback Jordan Ernst, who recorded 226 passing yards and three passing touchdowns. Ernst also displayed strong running skills, rushing for 112 yards and one touchdown.
Also key for the Bulldogs on offense were junior Chance Randolph, and senior Nick Jones. Randolph rushed for 263 yards and three touchdowns while Jones recorded 81 yards receiving and scored two touchdowns.
Coming up big for the Bulldogs on the defensive side of the ball was sophomore Case Baughman, who recorded a team high 22 total tackles.
Looking to record a second straight win, the Bulldogs will next play at home on Sept. 6 against the Sargent High School Farmers.
