Broncos tour arrives today in Cortez

The Denver Broncos will be in town Friday on their annual Salute to Fans tour.

Several players and cheerleaders, along with the Broncos mascot, Miles, will spend the day in Cortez hosting several activities for fans. In the morning, players will hold a private junior training camp for local middle school and elementary students. On Friday evening, they’ll appear at a free, public event in Parque de Vida.

Broncos spokeswoman Marisol Villagomez said she couldn’t say in advance which players would appear at the event, but she did say there will be plenty of photo opportunities, autograph signings and “Broncos-themed activities.”

The junior training camp will be put on through El Pomar Foundation. The tour is being sponsored by U.S. Bank.

The day’s main events will both last about an 1½ hours.

Cortez is the first stop on this year’s Salute to Fans tour, which will visit 11 cities before wrapping up on June 3. On Saturday, the Broncos will move on to their next stop in Del Norte. Last year, the tour included a stop in Durango, but this is the first time in several years that the team has visited Montezuma County.

Schedule

10-11:30 a.m.: Broncos players hold a junior training camp for local students at Montezuma-Cortez Middle School. Closed to the public.

4:30-6 p.m.: Broncos appear at Parque de Vida for a free community event.
