Mountain View names youth pastor
Mountain View Baptist Church has announced that Todd Giesen will serve as its youth pastor.
Giesen, who has a bachelor’s degree in religious education and several years of ministry experience, has a passion for reaching people with the gospel and is excited to serve in such a beautiful area.
He has been married 20 years and has four children.
Mountain View Baptist Church is at Colorado 184 and County Road 30.5 in Dolores. Sunday school for all ages begins at 10 a.m., morning service at 11 a.m., evening service at 6 p.m. and youth group at 5:30 p.m.

Vacation Bible School set for July 20
Mountain View Baptist Church of Dolores invites children between the ages of 3 years old and sixth grade to the “Journey Off The Map” Vacation Bible School.
It begins on July 20-24 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Kids will participate in Bible stories, crafts, music, games and dinner each night.

Methodist church Bible school
The First United Methodist Church in Cortez announces a Vacation Bible School for children from preschool age to young teen years, on July 13-16.
According to the church, the Vacation Bible will help children to grow with God using imagination to work together and build each other up.
This year, the church plans to open each day with empowering songs and praise at 8 a.m., and continue with games, and crafts until 11:30 a.m.

Lighthouse Baptist hosts Bible school
Lighthouse Baptists Church invites children in kindergarten through fifth grade to join this year’s Vacation Bible School beginning Sunday, July 12 and ending on Thursday, July 16.
It will run from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each evening.
Children will have access to games, lessons, snacks and more.
Van pickups will be available.

St. Paul’s looking for kids for choir
Children are wanted for St. Paul’s Joyful Noise Children’s Choir.
It meets through the summer from 4 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., on the first and third Tuesday of each month at St. Paul’s, at the corner of Oak and Bauer.
The choir’s goal is to share and learn the traditional, upbeat songs children usually learn in Sunday school with piano, dulcimer, hand percussion, and a few Orff instruments, as well as some acting and dance instruction.
The choir is free, and ages kindergarten through fifth grade are welcome.
