Brewfest raises more than $6,000 for local nonprofits

Mancos Brewing Co. event supports 2 nonprofits
The annual Mancos Valley Summer Brewfest raised $6,480 for two local nonprofits, Pay it Forward and Mancos Valley Resources. The fifth annual Mancos Valley Summer Brewfest raised more than $6,000 for two local nonprofits, Mancos Valley Resources and Pay it Forward.

The Brewfest on Aug. 17 was organized by Kathy Hands from the Mancos Brewing Co., in conjunction with the Mancos Valley Resources, a nonprofit focused “on preserving and enhancing” the cultural and community assets of the Mancos Valley.

It was held at Cottonwood Park and featured a classic car show, beer, wine, and music by The Crags, Foggy Memory Boys, Bitnova, and Cousin Curtiss.

Other event sponsors include Brand Central, LivWell, KSJD, Osprey, Fahrenheit Coffee Roasters, Mesa Verde Country, Blend, Mancos Liquor, Alpacka Raft, and Ayani Botanicals.

Overall, the event raised $6,480 for MVR and Pay it Forward, a nonprofit that raises money for Mancos families in need. The funds were presented to the two organizations on Monday afternoon at the brewery.
