Local authorities are investigating the burglary and theft of a Main Street medical marijuana dispensary this month.
According to a police press release, The Medicine Man One Stop Herbal Shop on the 300 block of Main Street reported the burglary just after 9 a.m. on Feb. 3. Two unknown male suspects reportedly stole “quite a bit” of marijuana from the “bud room” during the early morning that same day.
Cortez Police Chief Roy Lane confirmed that no arrests had been made as of press deadlines on Monday.
According to police, the suspected thieves kicked in a door to gain entry at 5 a.m. on Feb. 3. Owner Gilbert Garcia told police that the facilities alarm system had been accidentally disarmed.
Police report video surveillance revealed “two males breaking in and stealing the marijuana.”
