‘Boebert: Silent about dead kids’

The GOP has become an entirely performative, own-the-libs clown troupe. I give you our own Congressional sad harlequin, Lauren Boebert. In her time in Congress, she hasn’t sponsored a single bill to completion. Instead, she cosplays at being a no-nonsense prosecutor. (“Did you, or did you not decriminalize public urination?”) Actual facts don’t seem to interest her.

On the Natural Resources Committee, she recently launched into a lie-stuffed diatribe urging the delisting of wolves from the Endangered Species Act. She claimed, among other imagined things, that wolves killed 500 people in the past 20 years. She was wrong, again, but fortunately reality-based Democrats were present to fumigate the room of the pall of lies and misinformation cast by our woeful congreswoman. (One U.S. citizen has died at the paws of wolves in the past two decades).

She waved photos of two dogs she says were killed by wolves. She lamented their loss and detailed their gory, fatal wounds. One is left to wonder what would be possible if only Boebert could become as concerned about the deaths of human children in the U.S.! Gun violence is the leading cause of death among our children.

Conspicuous by their absence, Boebert did not wave photos of the mangled bodies of schoolchildren butchered in any of the 143 mass shootings, which have stained 2023 so far. She hasn’t invested a single breath decrying the slaughter of innocent school kids.

Boebert: enraged about dead dogs, silent about our dead kids. Think about that.
