Boebert can’t give ‘freedom’

As a boy in the early 1970s, I lived a bit in the Soviet Union. There, I saw many posters with an image of Leonid Brezhnev and “Freedom.” Now I see similar posters advertising Lauren Boebert.

For citizens in the USSR, “freedom” meant government leaders make the nation great and give freedom. According to Boebert's tweets and videos, that is what she means by freedom" – we will have freedom and be great if she is elected. The opposite of the inalienable rights of “We the people.”. .

Dwight Eisenhower said, “Freedom is the opportunity for self-discipline.” No elected official can Make America Great. Only We The People can make the nation great by willfully sacrificing our individual desires. Our founders phrased that as “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

My mother was told to put me in a Soviet school to learn “morals.” She refused. She said morals are individual to each family. It is for the parents, not the government, to teach those.

Boebert, like the Soviet leaders, wants our government to take over morality teaching from parents. Boebert says she wants (her version of) Christianity taught in schools.Yuck! My wife and I want to be responsible for teaching our children morals and beliefs. Like Thomas Jefferson, we don't want our kids taught some government–approved version.

I like leaders that inspire me to be a better person. Boebert reminds me too much of the Soviet government and doesn't inspire me.

I don't know much about Adam Frisch, but I'm giving him a chance.
