Boebert ‘a true threat’

U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert is all about “freedom.” But what kind of “freedom” does she stand for?

Obviously, it includes the right for anyone to obtain a firearm of any kind and carry it anywhere.

It's also the freedom to operate in a fantasy land, treating conspiracy theories and far-right fables as reality. Has anyone besides her seen the litter boxes that she says are in Durango schools for “people who identify as cats?” Doesn’t a member of Congress have some responsibility to have facts behind pronouncements?

But more importantly, her idea of freedom is her right to insert her religious beliefs into our laws: “The church is supposed to direct the government. . . I’m tired of this separation of church and state junk that’s not in the Constitution.” Spoiler alert: It is in the Constitution. In the First Amendment: “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” When she talks about the church directing the government, I suspect it's probably not Judaism, Hinduism or Islam.

But the biggest problem is her freedom to assert, in the absence of any substantial evidence or proof, that an election is “illegitimate” simply because she doesn’t like the result.

It’s this last item that makes her much more than just a flame-tossing, “lib-owning,” lightweight. It’s what makes her a true threat to democracy.

We’ve got a lot riding on this election. Democracy is at stake. Vote for Adam Frisch.
