Atmos Energy is teaming up with Habitat for Humanity in Montezuma County to build a home designed and constructed for energy efficiency, affordability and lower carbon emissions.

Slated for construction in 2020, the home will feature clean-burning natural gas appliances, solar-powered generation, in addition to energy-efficient insulation and building materials.

The 2020 project kicks-off with a check presentation between Atmos Energy executives and Habitat for Humanity board of director members at noon Thursday at the site of the new build on East 12th Street near Chestnut Street.

An S&P 500 company headquartered in Dallas, Atmos Energy serves more than 3 million distribution customers in more than 1,400 communities across eight states and manages proprietary pipeline and storage assets.
