Application session for seedlings still open

Conservation seedlings are grown at the Colorado State Forest Service nursery in Fort Collins.

The Colorado State Forest Service and La Plata Conservation District will accept applications until April 6 from Southwest Colorado residents for more than 40 varieties of tree and shrub seedlings.

The program requires that seedlings be used for conservation purposes only.

Colorado State University Extension offices and county conservation districts in the state supply seedling trees to about 5,000 Colorado residents each year. Seedlings were grown at the Forest Service nursery in Fort Collins and will be distributed in La Plata County in late April.
