On Thursday morning, reports of another gas leak and gas smell at MCHS delayed the start of school before ultimately being canceled for the day.
Reports of the odor came in before students arrived, and the fire department was reportedly called at 7:10 a.m.
When students began arriving on campus, they were asked to remain in their vehicles or in the parking lot until the building was cleared by firefighters, but school was ultimately canceled for the day.
Students who rode the bus were taken back home, and parents were notified.
As of this writing, the school day has not been canceled for Friday, Nov. 3.
This report of a gas leak comes less than a month after the high school was evacuated for a gas leak on Monday, Oct. 16.
School was canceled that day in an abundance of caution, as it would take emergency personnel longer to clear the building than originally thought.
