The 58th annual Hesperus Ski Swap takes place Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the La Plata County Fairgrounds at 2500 Main Ave. in Durango.
Gear up for the ski season with more than 10,000 new and used items. The event is hosted by Hesperus Ski Patrol, and proceeds are used for medical supplies, equipment, training, uniforms and facility maintenance for the organization.
The swap is famous for its selection of ski and snowboard gear – and outdoor gear in general – with prices that are hard to beat. For more information, visit the ski swap website.
Volunteers to help with the event are needed, and come with benefits. Volunteer slots are available through Nov. 7.
A full volunteer shift comes with a free T-shirt and admission for you and your family into the Friday night pre-swap sale. The pre-swap runs 5-8 p.m. Be the first to explore and purchase gear for the upcoming season.
Also, make sure to check out the season pass deals for Ski Hesperus, including the uphill pass for skiers who prefer to climb up the hill instead of ride the lift. Visit their website at ski-hesperus.com
If the snow flies, Ski Hesperus is scheduled to open Dec. 17.
