The community is invited to participate in the Santa to a Senior – Angel Tree program by adopting a senior in need this holiday season. Pick up a wish card hanging on the Christmas Tree at Ponderosa Restaurant, 715 Railroad Ave., after Nov. 28. Turn in gifts at Ponderosa by Dec. 22. The Dolores Chamber of Commerce, in Partnership with the Dolores Community Center, will get gifts to seniors in time for Christmas.
Seniors are often overlooked during this time of year, with many being shut-ins and unable to shop for themselves. Things like blankets, coats, grocery cards, slippers and gloves mean a lot to someone who finds it difficult to keep themselves warm and fed over the winter.
