The Rotary Club of Cortez will unveil its first installation of Art in The Alleyways, a project meant to help Cortez identify as a community of innovation and vision, at the Cortez Cultural Center, 25 N. Market St., Cortez, at 6 p.m. on Dec. 3.
Hot apple cider and cookies will be available to the public.
The artworks in the alley between Loungin’ Lizard and the Cultural Center and feature Southwest-themed figures painted with glow-in-the-dark paint. They will be illuminated by UV lamps configured to reflect the oranges, reds, yellows, blues, and other colors on lizards, toads, cactus and sagebrush, capturing the distinct flavor of the Southwest United States.
Guests are invited to visit the installation before or after the 33rd Annual Parade of Lights and enjoy the refreshments. Contact: Jim Reser, 970-739-0077, jim.reser@gmail.com.
