As the sun peaks over the mountains
On this peaceful, quiet morn
I’m at peace in Your glory and grace.
May it remain as I face the day’s storm.
The air so cool and crisp and with a chill
My campfire’s crackle puts a song in the air.
The coffee is brewing, the bacon is frying
My hat comes off and I’m thankful in prayer.
This life that I’ve chosen to fill up my days
Leads me through deep valleys and mountains high.
In the valleys I hunger, on the mountains I’m full.
But in either place, all I need You supply.
Evening will come quickly and the sun will soon set.
Tonight I’ll look back on my hard worked day.
I’ll remember the struggle, the joy, and the job well done.
Then tonight as I tire, I’ll lay down and I’ll pray.
My Lord, to You a day or a thousand the same.
But to me a thousand days I shall not see.
I’m reminded the quick days I have quickly turn to years
And before I know it with You I will be.
Throughout my days, I know I have sinned.
At times my goodness no one could trace,
But I was lucky to find the narrow trail,
Because of Your Word I know Your grace.
My bedroll is warm as I gaze to the heavens.
The sky is clear and the moon is bright.
The stars are twinkling and grinning at me.
If no dawn I see; awaiting me a peaceful flight.
