Despite some early resistance, building now provides an important space in community

An open house to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Smiley Building will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at 1309 East Third Ave. There will be guided tours of the building, demonstrations, live music and refreshments from the Smiley Cafe. For more information, visit www.smileybuilding.com.
