The Ute Mountain Casino Hotel reported that 98% of its employees have been vaccinated with a first or second shot for COVID-19.

The Ute Mountain Casino Hotel reported that 98% of its employees have been vaccinated with a first or second shot, according to a news release Oct. 28.

“This is a sought-after milestone for Ute Mountain Casino Hotel as we continue to work together as an organization and a community to navigate our way through the pandemic,” said General Manager Rick Scheer. “The dedication and willingness of our employees to step up and receive the vaccine has made this effort highly successful and we couldn’t be more grateful.”

The casino has followed federal and state health recommendations throughout the pandemic, including closing, then reopening with expanded COVID-19 and sanitation policies such as training programs, thermal cameras, and a non-smoking policy as part of its mitigation efforts.

“The vaccine is just another way for us to do our part to help protect ourselves, fight against COVID-19 and hopefully get closer to eradicating it so that we all can move forward,” said Scheer. “We will continue to align and comply with tribal, federal and state guidelines to ensure our community’s safety and overall well-being.”
