Cahone Boy Dies of Rattlesnake Bite

The five-year-old adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Johnson, of Cahone, died Saturday at the Cortez hospital after having been bitten by a rattlesnake in the yard of the Johnson home.

The boy evidently did not know what the snake was nor that it was dangerous and had picked up the reptile and was playing with it. The boy started into the house with the snake when it bit him on the hand. He dropped the snake and ran crying into the house. Everything possible was done to save the child's life but to no avail.
