Blaze Sunday
A fire which might have been real serious, was squelched by the local firemen Sunday in one of the Akin tenants houses on 8th Street.
The house was occupied by the Dick Tucker family who lost practically all of their belongings.
McDaniel Brothers come through area
The McDaniel brothers, Otis and Herbert, slayers of James Westfall and Sheriff Dunlap, are now quartered in the penitentiary at Canon City, where Herbert will spend the rest of his life and Otis will pay the death penalty in the gas chamber sometime in February. Sheriff L.G. Warrick and his son brought the two men through here Friday evening and gave them supper at the Tucker Coffee Cup.
Few people knew the men were here and several who did see them failed to recognize the pair.
Durango Radio station near completion
Durango’s radio station KIUP will go on the air for the first time on Armstice day, Nov. 11.
The station is located in Radio City, just north of the fair grounds and between the city limits of Durango and of Animas City.
Chevrolet introduces new cars

Mrs. Morris Long Killed
Mrs. Morris Long, better known to Dolores residents as Helen Trimble was instantly killed in an automobile accident near Frazier, Colo. last Friday. She was a secretary with the New Mexico Lumber Company at McPhee and was married to an employee of the lumber company. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Trimble.
